Nominations Sought for 2018-2020 Board Positions

Nominations are now being accepted for the California Association of School Counselors’ Board of Directors. Six positions are up for election in 2018:

Elementary School Vice President, Graduate Student Representative, Middle School Vice President, Los Angeles County Representative, Northern California Representative and Executive Vice President.

All offices are voting positions and the term of office for each position is two years effective July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2020 except for Executive Vice President whose term is four years including one year each as Executive Vice President, President Elect, President, and Immediate Past President.

Nomination Deadline is March 1, 2018

An individual can be nominated by another CASC member in good standing or one may nominate himself/herself for any position that he/she is qualified to hold. The qualifications for each position state each candidate must be a resident of the State of California and a Regular Member, Associate Member, Student Member or Retired Member in good standing upon submission of their nomination paper. Potential nominees must primarily work in the jurisdiction for which they would hold a position if elected. Nomination forms must be returned to CASC no later than March 1st. The nomination forms may be submitted electronically but must be signed by the nominee. If mailed, forms should be sent to arrive no later than March 1st. Postmarks will not be accepted.

A candidate statement, not to exceed 400 words, may be submitted for publication and, if so, will be published and distributed to all qualified voters. Candidate statements are not required but if submitted, MUST accompany the nomination form.
