In order to gain input from people with lived experience, the Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS) Bureau of Prevention Treatment and Recovery (BPTR) is convening a Peer Support Integration Advisory Committee.
This Committee’s role will be:
•To understand the various ways peer support is currently happening
•To develop a shared vision and identify common ground
•To identify differences and challenges
•To explore potential ways to integrate peer support
•To advise the Bureau on implementation of holistic peer support
DCTS invites you to participate in the Peer Support Integration Advisory Committee. The meetings will be held in Madison, at 1 West Wilson Room 630 from 1:00-3:30 p.m. on the following dates: February 28, March 28, April 20, and May 31, 2017. Participants must be able to commit to all four meetings. Further information will be sent out prior to each meeting. Operation RUSH is a criminal interdiction course developed to challenge both new and experienced officers to look beyond the traffic stop and recognize criminal activity. The course is designed to educate officers on case law, current drug trends, drug ingestion, contraband concealment methods and search techniques along with the deployments of K9s. This is a two day course with hands on vehicle searches. Dress is casual and a flashlight is needed. Attached is the statewide Wisconsin Traffic Safety Commission (TSC) schedule for 2017. There is a worksheet for each month and the meetings are listed chronologically (as well by region). These meetings dates/times are subject to change.
If you need information about a specific TSC meeting, like meeting location, contact information of the TSC Coordinator, etc., please contact Randy Wiessinger, BOTS Law Enforcement Liaison/Consultant, Wiessinger Consulting LLC, 608-516-6767, . These are open public meetings and citizens are welcome to attend and address the TSC. Please contact the TSC Coordinator beforehand to let them know that you plan to attend as a common courtesy.
Regional Prevention Centers and community coalitions could benefit from attending the meetings and collaborating with the TSCs. The Wisconsin County/City Traffic Safety Commission Guidelines document is attached to provide information about the TSCs.
