APPROVED FINANCE COUNCIL MINUTES

Meeting was called to order by Fr Jake at 7:32 PM and he led with an opening prayer. Agenda was unchanged. Motion to approve agenda was made by Charlie, seconded by Judy and passed unanimously. Minutes were unchanged. Motion to approve made by Judy, seconded by Mollyand passed unanimously.

REPORTS: Lucas/ B of E - last day of school is 5/31, 3 new members - Juliane Edwards, Thomas Poston & John Stachula, graduation mass is 630pm 6/2 & Ad Hoc committee still gathering HVAC fundraising ideas

REVIEW FINANCIAL STATEMENTS: Discussion around different YTD line items vs budget. Motion to approve the financial statements was made byMatt, seconded by Charlie and passed unanimously. Discussion around looking at future IT needs as On-line Quikbooks & On-line payments services like Vanco to modernize our parish's services with the Diocese and our congregation. 18 new families have signed up for On-line giving during this past pledge drive. Bernie asked that all future reports be sent in the same portrait format - David will work to ensure that can happen with minimal distractions.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: 7 applicants applied so far (internal & external) with interviews to begin when school is out. Judy made a motion to approve $100 bonus's for Jennifer & Evan, Matt seconded & passed unanimously. Development of Timeline for Finance Council & Handbook holiday wording changes approval were both tabled until our June meeting.

NEW BUSINESS: 2017 Gala report is not yet ready from the committee but preliminary profit is$30K. Money market Gala funds from 2014 & 2015 were found to have already been spent in Quik books and will be moved to parish checking account. It was decided that an email be sent to Ladies Council before their rummage sale in the event that excess funds are raised toward the stained window project. Charlie Jones will be overseeing 4005 N Division St property cleanup. Bernie made a motion to use our line of credit to purchase said property, Bob seconded and it passed unanimously.

PASTOR’S CORNER: Diocesan Audit - all items addressed with looking to replace Quikbooks with an on-line version plus seeking to reduce our parish accounts from 26 to a much lower level. Preparing for Deacon Dan's arrival - office nearly completed, working on logistics of workload for maximum parish visibility - will not be on checking accounts - working on organizational charts but Deacon Dan will be a part of all pertinent meetings so that he can learn/understand how a parish operates. Bernie moved that the meeting be adjourned, Charlie seconded and it passed unanimously.
