ADVANCED PHOTOGRAPHY SYLLABUS Miss Colantone

Course Description: This course will concentrate on advanced techniques of digital camera operations. Students expand knowledge of the SLR based camera and incorporate what they have learned in to their final projects. Advanced photo will give the student more time to work on their choice of photography. Matting and advanced Photoshop tools will help students with final photo appeal. Students will need a digital camera for the class.

5.  Creative Techniques

6.  Photo Essay or Event

Assignments will range from 10 points to 300 points depending on the difficulty.

All assignments will have Final Due Dates.

Any assignment turned after due date will be graded as half credit!

Homework/Class work:

Research, homework, bookwork, quizzes, mini lessons and contests.

Final Exam: Portfolio = 150 pts.

Camera Equipment Needs: The school has SLR film cameras and Digital Cameras to sign out between all classes. If students have access to either camera, they need to use their own or borrow one from a relative or friend.

If students are looking to buy a camera a digital camera with 5.0 to 8 mega pixels and 5X Optical Zoom and up is recommended. The more options to the camera the better: Such as changing the shutters and aperture settings, zooming options, screen size, ISO setting and stabilization features. SLR cameras are the most expensive and will not be required but students can benefit from the interchangeable lens and many features this type of camera has. See attached sheet for suggestions!

LAB FEE: $100 School Fee- Covers most of the materials needed for the assignments, and will cover for notebook, portfolio for final exam, class disc, negative sleeves, developers, lens tissue, film and paper, Laser Ink and Ink from roll printer, mat board and more…Extra quality prints for your portfolio final, friends, family, some contests and others must be made outside of the classroom .
