3 Burglars Arrested

A team of officers of the Crime Branch led by SI Virender Singh and consisting of HC Virender, HC Harvinder, HC Rajender, HC Rajbeer,m HC Mahavir, HC Virender and Ct. Jai Jai Baba, Ct. Ramesh, Ct. Suresh and Sanjay under the supervision of ACP Udaivir Singh Rathi have busted a notorious and desperate gang of burglars and worked out two cases of burglary of Delhi.
Information was received by SI Virender Singh that on 22/12/2010 Amit and his gang members involved in burglary will come to Red Fort on a red coloured motor cycle CBZ No. DL-3ST-3324 to sell gold jewellery which they have burgled from different places of Delhi. On this information a trap was laid and the vehicle was intercepted. Three persons were apprehended who were later identified as:-
- Vikram @ Vickey (aged 22 yrs) R/o JJ Colony, Mangol Puri, Delhi.
- Amit (aged 24 yrs) S/o Jitender R/o Mangol Puri, Delhi.
- Manoj Yadav (aged 21 yrs) S/o Ajay Yadav R/o Mangol Puri, Delhi.
A case under the appropriate sections of the law was registered and all the accused persons arrested. Burgled goods worth about Rs. 1,60,000/- including gold bangles, earring, nose pins, mangal sutra, chains have been recovered. Two cases of burglary one of PS Vijay Vihar and other of PS Mangol Puri have been worked out.
All the apprehended persons were subjected to intensive interrogation. They disclosed that they used to target houses where there were no lights. They then broke open the doors and decamped with gold, cash and other valuables.
All the concerned police stations have been informed.

· 740 gram Heroin seized.
A team of officers of the Crime Branch led by ACP/Narcotics and consisting of Inspr. Vivek Pathak, SI Satyawan, HC Mukesh, HC Joginder and HC Sanjeev (1st team) and Inspr. Vivek Pathak, SI Paramjit Singh, HC Sanjeev Kumar and HC Harinder Singh (2nd team) under the supervision of Addl.DCP/ Sanjay Bhatia have arrested two notorious drug peddlers and one supplier in two separate cases and 740 Grams of Heroin has been seized.
1st case:
Information was received by SI Satyawan that one Rahman S/o Habibulla R/o Sangam Vihar, Delhi is supplying Heroin in East Delhi. This information was further developed. On 16/12/2010, specific information was received that Rahman will come to supply Heroin to someone near Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital Kalyan Puri, Delhi. On this information a trap was laid. Rahman (aged 22 years) S/o Habibulla R/o Sangam Vihar, Delhi was apprehended. 320 gram of Heroin was recovered from his possession. A case under the appropriate sections of the law was registered at Crime Branch.
During investigation, it was revealed that accused Rahman had purchased this heroin from one Ajayveer @ Satbir R/o Village Brahampur Kundan, PS Faridpur, District Barreily, UP. The supplier has also been arrested.
2nd case:
Information was received by SI Paramjeet Singh of Narcotics Cell that one Sunil Kumar @ Sunna R/o Jagat Puri, Delhi is trafficking in Heroin.
On the night of 21/12/2010, SI Paramjeet singh received specific information that Sunil Kumar @ Sunna will bring Heroin from Bareilly, UP on his red colour Bullet motor cycle No. DL-13S-0188 and will go to his house via Gagan Cinema, Nand Nagri, Delhi. On this information a trap was laid. At about 01.20 am Sunil Kumar @ Sunna (aged 40 years) R/o Jagat Puri, Delhi was apprehended near Gagan Cinema while he was coming on his red colour Bullet motorcycle. 420 gram of Heroin was recovered from his possession. A case under the appropriate sections of the law was registered.
On interrogation accused revealed that he had bought this heroin from one Sakhawat R/o Bareilly, UP. He is absconding.
Further efforts are on to apprehend the absconding accused.

A GANG OF INTERSTATE AUTOLIFTERS BUSTED
Major Highlights:
o One auto lifter and two mechanics apprehended.
o Seventeen stolen cars recovered.
o A racket of selling four wheelers to villagers on meager amounts – busted.
W ith the arrest of accused namely Ashok Kumar @ Tinku S/o Sh. Shiv Kumar (25 yrs.); Hukum Singh @ Babloo S/o Sh. Khayali Ram (23 yrs.) and Subhash S/o Sh. Bhawani Singh (24 yrs.) officials of Police Station Pul Prahlad Pur has unearthed a crime syndicate indulged in the illegal activities of auto lifting and disposing off the same.
INCIDENT
On 24.12.2010, a team comprising of ASI Dilbag Singh, HC Shrawan, HC Naeem, HC Manoj, Ct. Praveen, Ct. Prashant and Ct. Manoj were performing their duty of vehicle checking at Kaya Maya Picket on M.B. Road. An information was received through informer that three persons in a stolen Maruti Car will be coming from Mehrauli side through M.B. Road for their destination to Bulandsehar. On this information, a trap was laid by the staff on M.B. Road and at the instance of the informer, a white Maruti Car without number plate coming from Mehrauli side was signaled to stop. The occupants of the car were directed to produce the documents of the vehicle, which they failed. On checking official data, it revealed that the vehicle was reportedly stolen vide FIR No. 258 dated 17.12.2010 u/s 379 IPC PS C.R. Park.
Team and Operation
On receipt of the above information, the same was immediately communicated to Sh. Mahipal Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Sub-Division Ambedkar Nagar, who immediately constituted a team comprising of ASI Dilbag Singh, HC Shrawan, HC Naeem, HC Praveer, HC Manoj, Ct. Praveen, Ct. Prashant and Ct. Manoj all of PS Pul Prahlad Pur and ASI Durgesh and Ct. Ravinder of PS C.R. Park under the close supervision of Insp. Harish Kukreti, Station House Officer, PS Pul Prahlad Pur. On interrogation the accused informed that they used to steal the vehicles in bid to earn quick bucks.
MODUS OPERANDI
Accused Hukum Singh and Subhash are mechanics. They stay in Aligarh and Bulandsehar respectively. During their job they came to know that large number of villagers want to have four wheelers on cheaper rates for the sake of their reputation in the society. Accordingly, they came in contact with Ashok Kumar @ Tinku and one Aas Mohd. @ Ashu S/o Noor Mohd. both residents of Bulandsehar. Hukum Singh and Subhash narrated these persons about the requirement and obsession of cheap vehicles by the villagers. Ashok Kumar and Aas Mohd. started stealing vehicles from different areas of Delhi. Prior to committing the theft, they used to conduct recce of the area, from where they have to lift the vehicle. Accordingly, with the help of a master key, they used to steal the vehicle and left Delhi for Bulandsehar / Aligarh, whereupon they delivered the vehicle either to Hukum Singh or to Subhash for a sum of ` 10,000/- to ` 15,000/-. Subhash and Hukum Singh used to purchase condemned vehicles on very cheap rates and sell the same in junk. Then the registration details viz. Engine Number, Chasis Number of the vehicle, which was sold to junk dealer, were tampered on the details of the vehicle, which was stolen and handed over to them by Ashok Kumar and Aas Mohd. After doing necessary tampering on the stolen vehicle, the same was sold to villagers for a sale consideration of ` 20,000/- to ` 25,000/-. If they do not have details of any condemned vehicle, they merely tamper the registration details of their own will. In this process, both the mechanics got the commission of around ` 2,000/- to ` 5,000/-.
INVESTIGATION
During investigation all the occupants of the stolen vehicle were arrested under the appropriate provisions of Code of Criminal Procedure and subjected to sustain interrogation. During interrogation they disclosed that they had stolen about 50 vehicles from different part of Delhi, which they had sold to villagers of Aligarh and Bulandsehar and some of them are kept in their workshop. They further confessed that their 4th accomplice Aas Mohd. @ Aashu is running in judicial custody at Dasna in a case of autolifting. They led the Police team to Aligarh, Bulandsehar and their workshop and got recovered 17 stolen four wheelers.

The registration numbers of six of the recovered stolen vehicles have been tampered by the arrestees, therefore, the original registration numbers along with the details of FIR and police stations are being ascertained. Concerned police have accordingly been informed to take necessary legal action against the accused persons to arrest these persons in their respective cases. Further investigation is on. Efforts are afoot to trace and nab the co-accused. More arrests along with recovery of stolen vehicles are likely.

‘Save Home, Save Family’ is a joint venture of National Commission for Women, Delhi Police and Tata Institute of Social Sciences initiated in March 2009 at Special Police Unit for Women and Children, Nanakpura with six social workers and later expanded to two other districts of Delhi – Vasant Vihar and Muarya Enclave.
Introduction of this project has facilitated professional social work intervention in police settings with the families experiencing domestic violence and marital issues. The project has made it possible for the families to sit and discuss amicably in a sensitive, conducive, non threatening environment. It has also made it possible for the social workers and the police to intervene together in the welfare of the family. The clients are also, where required linked with other service providers and stakeholders such as lawyers, psychologists, psychiatrists, alcohol rehabilitation centres etc. In addition to that training and awareness generation programs on gender issues in the community and with the police had been conducted. As part of the project, the social workers also organised awareness sessions in the community throughout Delhi. In all 34 sessions (excluding the month of December) aimed at empowerment of the women and discussed gender issues, domestic and family violence, available systematic support and procedures were organised.
The process usually involves a women approaching SPUWC where she interacts with the social worker and a police officer regarding her situation. At the spcecial cell the husband, wife and where required other family members are called in the cell for individual and joint sessions with the workers. Where the couple decides to live together amicably follow up of the client is done either through phone, at the cell or through home visits.
One of the example is that of husband and wife who met through internet and had love marriage, belonging to different economic status. Need of building trust between the couple was felt and a better environment for the women for her mental well being. Differences in relation to moving abroad were also there Intervention in this project at the SPUWC, Nanakpura, and issues were resolved and mutual understanding was encouraged. The intervention included minimum of ten sessions, involving individual and joint sessions with the wife, husband and mother in law. The workers paid home visit for the follow up that helped in resolving the issue. The couple has showed improvement in relationship and family life, now has a child and has decided to go abroad.
The project has received 494 cases in the year 2010 (excluding the month of December) and the total number of cases reconciled for the same duration is 129.
It is expected for the project to be expanded to all districts of Delhi with appointment of more social workers to provide similar services at the district level.

ALERT BEAT OFFICERS NABBED GANG OF BURGLARS WHILE DECAMPING WITH STOLEN ARTICLES AND RECOVERED STOLEN COPPER SCRAP AND IRON SHEETS IN HUGE QUANTITY
With the arrest of four burglars namely Rama Shankar (35 years) s/o Nagina Sahini r/o Village Budhwara, PS Malahi, District Motihari, Bihar, Praveen (27 years) s/o Rajpal r/o Village Paddha, PS Hasand, District Karnal, Haryana, Rampal (26 years ) s/o Chatar Singh r/o Village Kabadi, PS Madal Town, District Panipat, Haryana and Satyawan (30 years) s/o Jiwan Dass r/o Village Chatar, PS Ujjana, District Jind, Haryana, the alert beat staff of PS Shahbad Dairy nabbed a gang of burglars and recovered stolen iron sheet weighing around 300 kgs. loaded in a Maruti Van.
BRIEF FACTS / INCIDENT :
In order to prevent incidents of M.V. theft, snatching and robbery, on 24.12.10, all the beat staff and motorcycle patrolling staff were conducting patrolling in the area of PS Shahbad Dairy from 6 PM to 11 PM under the supervision of SHO/Shahbad Dairy. At about 7:50 PM, Beat Officers Ct Wazir, 1126/OD and Ct Ram Avtar, 1123/OD who were also conducting patrolling on Motor Cycle near DTL, Sector-5, DSIDC, Delhi, heard the shout of some people. They immediately rushed towards the voice and found that a crowd of people was chasing a Maruti Van. Both the Beat Officers also chased the Maruti Van and compelled the driver of Maruti Van to stop. All the four accused were taken into police custody who disclosed their identity as Rama Shankar (35 years) s/o Nagina Sahini r/o Village Budhwara, PS Malahi, District Motihari, Bihar, Praveen (27 years) s/o Rajpal r/o Village Paddha, PS Hasand, District Karnal, Haryana, Rampal (26 years ) s/o Chatar Singh r/o Village Kabadi, PS Madal Town, District Panipat, Haryana and Satyawan (30 years) s/o Jiwan Dass r/o Village Chatar, PS Ujjana, District Jind, Haryana. On enquiry about the iron sheets loaded in the vehicle, they disclosed that they had stolen the same from under construction Power Plant, Sector-5, DSIDC, Bawana. Later, on the statement of Sh. Mritunjay Dubey, Supervisor, Power Plant, Sector-5, DSIDC, Bawna, a case vide FIR No. 277/10 dated 24.12.10 U/S 380/411/34 IPC PS Shahbad Dairy was registered and investigation taken up.
