ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Open and offered only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia (excluding Puerto Rico), 17 years of age or older at time of registration. Applicant's ages 17 and below see below for eligibility requirements.

1) Player Eligibility
1a) Pi Kappa Alpha supports the ESRB industry rating system for video games and the voluntary enforcement of this rating system. Call of Duty Black Ops has an ESRB rating of "M". In accordance with the ESRB policy for games with this rating, all participants must be a minimum of 17 years of age at the opening of the event in order to register and compete in the Call of Duty Black Ops Tournament. Minors under the age of 17 must have a signed parental permission form to compete in the Tournament.
1b) The 2nd Annual Pi Kappa Alpha Call of Duty Tournament is open to all players regardless of nationality, gender or race. 1c) The 2nd Annual Pi Kappa Alpha Call of Duty Tournament is open to both amateur and professional gamers, regardless of tournament experience or corporate sponsorship.
2) Registration & Schedule
1. By registering and participating in the Call of Duty Black Ops Tournament, each participant agrees to be bound by the rules of this document.
1. 4v4 Team tournament registration fee is $80 early registration and $100 late registration. 2 person zombies tournament is $30 early registration and $40 late registration. 2. The tournament will be limited to the first 64 teams for 4 vs. 4 team play. Limit one (1) registration/game play per person during the Tournament Period. Entries are accepted on a first-received basis. Organizers reserve the right to close or re-open registration without any prior notice. Organizers may decide at any time whether or not to use a waiting list of potential participants.
3. Tournament entry fee is non-refundable for any reason including but not limited to nonparticipation, expulsion, elimination or other conditions that the Tournament Organizers deem appropriate.
4. Early registration will end March 26th, and late registration until the day of the event on April 3rd.. Additional registration, if spots available, will be held at the Younes Conference Center on the day of the tournament.
5. Contest will be held on April 3rd, registration and team sign-in at 9:00 a.m. and end at 9:30 a.m., with the tournament starting at 10:00 a.m.. Teams shall compete in a double- elimination bracketed tournament format until a final winner is determined.
6. This is a double elimination tournament.
7. Teams need to check-in at least 60 minutes prior to the start of the tournament.
8. No one else except registered contestants can perform in the contest. Participants may not transfer or give their registration to anyone else. Unregistered participants using a registered contestant's name or identity will be immediately disqualified.
9. Only participants are allowed in the playing area.
10. Entrants are responsible for understanding the operation of game controllers.
11. Unclaimed prizes will NOT be awarded. Procedures
1. Teams need to check-in at their designated game station at least 10 minutes prior to the start of each game or they forfeit that upcoming game. Games will be scheduled at 15 minute increments and will not be played ahead of schedule. (Moved from Registration and Schedule to here in procedures)
2. Be sure to check in before entering tournament play area.
3. Tournament format is 4 vs. 4 team play.
4. No pausing, delays or rewinds allowed. If you do pause a game (using START button), then you may be penalized at the discretion of the referee(s).
5. The winner of each round will be determined by the highest point score and will advance to the next round for 4 vs. 4 play. In case of a tie, the game will go into a 2 minute overtime to determine the winner. If the overtime results in a “tie”, the Kill/Death ratios from both teams will be averaged, and the team will the higher Kill/Death ratio will be awarded the win. 6. Tournament seeding will be determined in a random fashion by tournament organizers.

Zombies – 2 Players 1. Along with the 4v4 team tournament, there will be a 2 player zombie tournament. 2. 2 players will have 25 minutes to acquire the highest combined point total. 3. In case of a tie, total kills will be the second tiebreaker, and in case of a further tie, head shots will be the tie breaker. 4. Rounds survived or highest round total has no effect on the winning, the team with the HIGHEST combined points earned within 25 minutes will be reigned winners. 5. Timer starts as soon as the game begins. 6. Tournament organizers will be monitoring the Zombie tournament and no glitches within the game will be allowed, no exception. If a team or member of team is caught, they will be immediately disqualified. 7. As soon as the time limit reaches 25 minutes, a tournament organizer will tell the players the time is up, and the players will IMMEDIATELY stop playing and be forced to die. If a player does not immediately stop and continues playing, they will be forced a 1000- point penalty to their overall points earned score.
Maps will be randomly drawn immediately before each match, the team on top of the bracket will draw the map and that map will be played for that match.
Tournament Conduct and Decisions 1. By participating in the Tournament, competitors agree to be bound by the decisions of the Tournament organizers. Persons who violate any rule, gain unfair advantage in participating in the Tournament, or obtain winner status using fraudulent means will be disqualified. No sideline coaching or gambling on games allowed. 2. Unsportsmanlike, disruptive, annoying, harassing or threatening behavior is prohibited. Foul language of any kind will not be permitted or tolerated.
3. No memory cards or saved games allowed. Necessary?
4. Members will not attempt to manipulate the game or tournament system in an attempt to give any player or team an unearned advantage.
5. If any player is disconnected before the first kill is made, the match must be restarted.
6. All scores are final, negative remarks to the Tournament Administrators or personnel of the Tournament Organizers will not be tolerated.
8. The Tournament Organizers will interpret these rules and resolve any disputes, conflicting claims or ambiguities concerning the rules of the Tournament and the Tournament Organizers' decisions concerning such disputes will be final.
9. If the conduct or outcome of the Tournament is affected by human error, any mechanical malfunctions or failures of any kind, intentional interference or any even beyond the control of the Tournament Organizers, the Tournament Organizers reserve the right to terminate the Tournament, or make such other decisions regarding the outcome as the Tournament Organizers deem appropriate.
10. Any intentional distraction to the players while they are playing will result in immediate disqualification and removal from the premises, including turning off the game.
11. Controllers are supplied by the tournament. If a controller is defective, a player can pause the game and notify one of the tournament staff. If a player plays with a defective controller, all results are counted. Players will be allowed to bring and play with their own KontrolFreek modifications, but can only be put onto a controller supplied for the tournament. The Tournament Administrators must approve of any other controller modification other than a KontrolFreek prior the tournament or at team sign-in. If a player attempts to use a modification that was not approved prior to usage can result in tournament disqualification at the Tournament Organizers discretion.
12. All decisions will be made by the Tournament Organizers and are final. The Tournament Organizers may waive any of these rules in their sole discretion and/or may make determinations and rulings that are contrary to rules in the spirit of fairness.
13. Abuse of any equipment (Xbox 360, controllers, TV’s, etc) will result in your disqualification from the tournament and reimbursement of any damaged equipment.
14. Players must not be under the influence of controlled substances or alcohol while participating in the contest or they will be disqualified. In the event of disqualification or ineligibility of any winner, sponsors may replace such winner with the next runner up at sponsors’ sole discretion.
Publicity: Use of Personal Information 1. By participating, where allowed by law, all participants and winner(s) grant the Tournament Organizers exclusive permission to use their names, characters, photographs, voices, and likenesses in connection with promotion of this and other events and waive any claims to royalties or remuneration for such use.
2. By participating in the Tournament, where allowed by law, participants agree that the Tournament Organizers may use such information for marketing and other purposes.
Release 1. By participating in the Tournament, each participant and winner waives any and all claims of liability against the Tournament Organizers, its employees and agents, the Tournament's sponsors and their respective employees and agents, for any personal injury or loss which may occur from the conduct of, or participation in, the Tournament, or from the use of any prize.
Liability 1. All Competitors and Spectators are responsible for themselves and their property.
Miscellaneous 1. Void where prohibited.
2. Each winner must submit proof of identification/eligibility and sign the 2nd Annual Pi Kappa Alpha Call of Duty Tournament form/waiver to claim a prize.
3. The Tournament Organizers may substitute prizes, amend the rules or discontinue the Tournament at any time. Rules are subject to change at any time.
4. The Tournament Organizers disclaim any responsibility to notify participants of any aspect related to the conduct of the Tournament.
5. All entries to become the property of the Tournament Organizers and will not be returned.
7. PRIZES/APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE (“ARV”): Winners may not substitute, assign or transfer prizes, but Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion to substitute prize with another prize of equal or great value should the advertised prize become unavailable for any reason. Taxes on prize are solely the winner's responsibility. Prizes will not be fulfilled outside the United States. Limit one (1) prize per person. Should a prize be won by a minor in his/her jurisdiction of primary residence, any required affidavits, releases and undertakings by Sponsor, in its sole discretion, must also be executed and undertaken by the parent/legal guardian of the minor, both on behalf of themselves and the minor, or the prize will be forfeited. Prizes may be awarded to, or in the name of, minor's parent/legal guardian. Gift cards are subject to the terms contained on the gift card. Unclaimed prizes will NOT be awarded. Authorization and Release: The undersigned Applicant, for his or her heirs, assigns and legal representatives, releases, discharges and holds harmless the Tournament Organizers and all sponsors and their affiliates, their directors, officers, members, employees, staff, volunteers, agents and representatives from any all liability for any events or consequences whatsoever and in any manner arising out of or related to Applicant's entry and/or participation in this tournament, including but not limited to personal injuries sustained by Applicant.
By entering the contest, all players consent to Sponsor's use of his or her name, photograph and/or likeness, address, voice, and statements made by the player, in any and all media now known or hereafter developed (including without limitation print, broadcast and internet), for all tournament or business purposes including advertising and promotional activities without additional compensation, notice, or approval, unless prohibited by law.
The signatures below verify that both applicant and parent or guardian (if under age 17) have read the 2nd Annual Pi Kappa Alpha Call of Duty Registration Rules, Tournament Play Rules, and Authorization and Release sections and agree to abide throughout the 2nd Annual Pi Kappa Alpha Call of Duty Tournament.
Release must be signed by parent or guardian only if applicant is under age 17 as of entry date.
