A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR JENNIFER LOVEDAYDONOVAN OF CHARLESTON COUNTY, AND TO CONGRATULATE HER FOR BEING NAMED MRS. SOUTH CAROLINA AMERICA 2013.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly were pleased to learn that Jennifer LovedayDonovan was named Mrs. South Carolina America 2013 in the November 2012 pageant; and

Whereas, a native of Charleston, she has held thirteen titles during the course of her pageant experience in the Miss America, Miss Universe, and Miss United States systems, with her highest honor as the only woman to hold the coveted Triple Crown as Miss South Carolina Teen United States 1999, Miss South Carolina United States 2005, and Mrs. South Carolina United States 2010; and

Whereas, she placed in the top twelve at Miss United States Teen, third runnerup at Miss United States, and 5th runnerup at Mrs. United States, and she will continue her quest to become Mrs. America this August when she competes for the title in Arizona; and

Whereas, Jennifer has graced the covers of several national magazines such as Supermodels Unlimited and Brides. She has also been featured by the International Dove campaign in Time Square and Shanghai, and locally she appears in ad campaigns, billboards, and storefronts; and

Whereas, she earned a degree in political science from the College of Charleston and a master's in political science and a master's in teaching from The Citadel, and she is currently completing her final year in a doctorateofeducation program at Walden University; and

Whereas, a secondary education instructor at Garrett Academy of Technology, a Distinguished Title I School, she serves as the junior class sponsor, the prom coordinator, a library advisory board member, and a homebound instructor; and

Whereas, with their two English Bulldogs Miss Ellie Mae and Mister Banx, Jennifer and her beloved husband, Jason, reside in Charleston. In their spare time they enjoy working out, boating, traveling, attending sporting events, and becoming wine and cheese connoisseurs; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly appreciate the pride and recognition that Jennifer LovedayDonovan has brought to her community and to the Palmetto State and wish her success and happiness in all her future endeavors. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize and honor Jennifer LovedayDonovan of Charleston County, and congratulate her for being named Mrs. South Carolina America 2013.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Jennifer LovedayDonovan.
