Event Information: (March 31, 10 AM - 2 PM) Do you enjoy exploring the world at a different pace and seeing parts of your town that many often don’t see? If you said yes, then you should join OLS for a day cycle of the Reedy Creek Trail. This trail is approximately 10 miles round trip and an excellent route for beginners as most of the trail is paved and free of car traffic. Sights along the way include Meredith College, the NC Museum of Art, the NCSU equestrian research station, and an entrance to Umstead Park. This ride will include a picnic stop at the NC Museum of Art Outdoor Exhibits on the second leg of the trip. Students must provide for themselves a bicycle, helmet, and lock. Bicycles can be rented from campus recreation for $3 a day. A mandatory pre-trip meeting will be held March 30th at 4 PM at the Pyramids of Sullivan Hall to go over route information, safety considerations, etc. Experience level for this trip is beginner to intermediate.

Trip Cost: This trip will cost $10. This cost includes a box lunch from the Village Deli. The box lunch includes a choice of sandwich with a side item, pickle, and choice of cookie. Please indicate your choices in the application below. Bottled water will also be provided but you are encouraged to bring your own reusable water bottle. Payment is due by March 21st. There is also a mandatory pre-trip meeting for this event on March 30th at 4PM under the Sullivan Pyramids.

Applications are due by February 29th. The application is available online and can be returned to Chester Brewer in the Scholars Office in person or by email. For questions or to get more information, contact Chester Brewer at or 919-513-0704. Hope to see you out there!
