Proposed rule:

4.5.3 There shall be a minimum of four divers certified by an accredited certifying agency present on the water at all times at events with restrained cockpit boats and a minimum of 3 divers certified by an accredited certifying agency.

Prior to each race day, divers shall familiarize themselves with driver safety equipment and structural characteristics of each boat. Divers

shall be fully suited and ready to enter water at any time a race boat is present on the water. Prior to each race day, divers shall familiarize themselves with driver safety equipment and structural characteristics of each boat. The divers may or may not be on the official rescue boat but cannot be on either of the turn judge boats

Reason for change:

There are more outboard clubs that have select inboard classes racing under their sanction. In some cases, those inboard classes are non restrained cockpit boats, and in some cases there is only one inboard class on the sanction

The fourth diver is an added expense to an already expensive event.
