Time lies. Another year has begun. May it be a vintage year, and What's bring you both health and success! Welcome to the January – March issue of The Librarian Newsletter, the irst issue of 2018! Inside As the new Chief Editor, let me start by conveying my gratitude to all of you who have set up the milestones for The Librarian Seminar on Effective Use Newsletter. This is my elated privilege to speak to you through this year's irst issue of “The Librarian”. It's been such a pleasure for me to share that PLWO Patron Muhammad Asif Munir has published another issue of its newsletter. I am also thankful to new editorial team of the newsletter “The Librarian” for working with rapid to prepare the current issue of the newsletter. Especially, Ms. Nadia Bhatt, Editor of the Newsletter for taking time from her busy schedule to review the entire content of the newsletter to make it error free. Her contribution to bring this issue in shape is praiseworthy.

At last, I am happy to share that keeping traditions alive PLWO is organizing its 6th annual dinner on Saturday, May 5, 2018. I hope that all of you will participate in the event. Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood is an ambitious, PLWO: How did you come to librarianship? They offer their time and energy for the professional cause. We, the seniors and other professionals, need to acknowledge their efforts and most importantly we need to bring in new faces and youngsters in our team.

The Department of Information Management (DoIM), University of the Punjab, Lahore is going to organize 2nd International Conference on Information Management and Libraries (ICIML) on the “Leading for Transformation: Preparing Relective Information and Library Professionals” on 10-12 October 2018 at New Campus, University of the Punjab, Lahore. 11. The Special Interest Group on International Information Issues (SIG-III) of the Association for Information Science & Technology (ASIS&T) invites research papers for the 18th International Paper Contest (IPC) for library and information science (LIS) professionals in developing countries for the 2018 Annual Meeting, which will take place in Vancouver, Canada, from November 9, 2018. The theme of the Annual Meeting is: “Building an Ethical and Sustainable Information Future with Emerging Technologies”.
