Learning the Holy Qur’an

"The best among you is the one who learns and teaches the Holy Qur’an" (Sahih Bukhari)

TAQWA program through our Jama’at has setup online classes for the following:  Tarteel: Correct pronunciation of the Holy Qur’an.  Tarjuma (Translation) and Tafseer (Commentary) classes with Urdu Grammar.  Arabic Grammar in English. All Faculty members on this website are certified Holy Qur’an teachers serving in different capacities. Etiquettes for reading the Holy Qur’an

 Be physically and spiritually clean. “That this is indeed a noble Qur’an; In a well-preserved book; Which none shall touch except those who are purified” (56:78-80) One should be physically clean and, preferably, perform wudū before its recitation. To fully absorb the blessings of the Qur’an and to understand its real meanings, one should be spiritually pure, clean and sincere in one’s beliefs.

 Recite the following prayer before reciting the Holy Qur’an. The Holy Qur’an directs us to say Ta’awwuz before reciting the Holy Qur’an. “And when thou recitest the Qur’an, seek refuge with Allah from Satan the rejected.” (16:99)

 Remain silent and listen when the Holy Qur’an is recited. "And when the Qur’an is recited, give ear to it and keep silence, that you may be shown mercy." (7:205)

 Handle the Holy Qur’an respectfully. Please refrain from placing the Holy Qur’an on the floor or in a dirty place. We always have to respect the Holy book physically and in our hearts.

 Recite the Holy Qur’an at dawn. Daily recitation is preferred at dawn. Allah out of His Mercy has not place any restriction on how much we read. Therefore, after Fajr Salat and before starting our day reciting even one verse daily goes a long way to bless our lives. “And recite the Qur’an at dawn. Verily, the recitation of the Qur’an at dawn is especially acceptable to Allah.” (17:79)

Do not the disbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were a closed-up mass, then We opened them out? And We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? [Chapter 21: verse 31]

Do they not then look at the camel, how it is created? And at the heaven, how it is raised high? And at the mountains, how they are set up? And at the earth, how it is spread out? Admonish, therefore, for thou art but an admonisher; [Chapter 88, verses 18-22]

When a servant of Mine seeks nearness to Me, with that which I love, out of whatever I have prescribed, I begin to love him and when I love him, I become his ear with which he hears and his eyes with which he sees and his hand with which he grasps and his foot with which he walks, and when he begs Me for anything I bestow it upon him and when he seeks shelter with Me, I give him shelter. June 2019: Creation of Man

Holy Qur’an

And, surely, We created man from dry ringing clay, from black mud wrought into shape. [Chapter 15, verse 27]

10

O people, if you are in doubt concerning the Resurrection, then consider that We have indeed created you from dust, then from a spermdrop, then from clotted blood, then from a lump of flesh, partly formed and partly unformed, in order that We may make Our power manifest to you. And We cause what We will to remain in the wombs for an appointed term; then We bring you forth as babes; then We rear you that you may attain to your age of full strength. And there are some of you who are caused to die prematurely, and there are others among you who are driven to the worst part of life with the result that they know nothing after having had knowledge. And thou seest the earth lifeless, but when We send down water thereon, it stirs and swells, and grows every kind of beauteous vegetation. [Chapter 22, verse 6]

Then We fashioned the sperm into a clot; then We fashioned the clot into a shapeless lump; then We fashioned bones out of this shapeless lump; then We clothed the bones with flesh; then We developed it into another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. [Chapter 23: verse 15]

He created man from dry ringing clay which is like baked pottery. [Chapter 55: verse 15]

Translation: Abu Hurairah ra related that the Holy Prophetsaw said: When Allah loves a servant, a call goes out to : Allah, the Exalted, loves So and So, do thou love him also. Then Gabriel also loves him and sends a call through to the dweller of the heavens: Allah loves So and So, do you also love him. Then the dweller of the heavens love him also, and then he is accepted in the earth (Bokhari and Muslim). Muslim adds: When Allah is offended with a servant, He calls Gabriel and says to him: I am offended with so and So; and Gabriel is offended with him also. Then he sends a call through to the dwellers of the heavens: Allah is offended with So and So, do you be offended with him also. Thereafter aversion towards him is spread in the earth.
