CHALLENGE Houses of worship have a variety of lighting needs that range as widely as the needs of their parishioners. There are typically multiple event spaces in house of worship facilities, but requirements for these spaces fall into at least one of three main categories: architectural lighting, event lighting, and/or full production-style lighting. Lighting fixtures can vary from white only, fixed-position stage lighting to production lighting with full-color moving head luminaires, but no matter the approach, the fixtures in these spaces must be powerful, affordable, and easy to maintain. Control options should be capable and intuitive—and powerful enough to control house lights along with the stage lighting. Sanctuaries and common spaces are regularly used not only by non-technical staff, but parishioners, volunteers, and outside organizations as well.
